Continuing in the series of letters penned by First Lutheran Church’s youth, here’s a note from Asmeret. For more info on the gathering and to see a note from Pastor Dutzmann on the youth gathering, please click here.
Hi all!
My name is Asmeret. I have just graduated from high school, so I hope to make this last summer of juvenile ease one full of many adventures and new experiences. What better way to kickoff the summer than going to San Antonio! I am absolutely thrilled to attend the LCMS youth gathering. I am quite looking forward to meeting people from all around the country and learning about their experiences with living out their faith. Such open discussion about God will be the ultimate learning experience, and listening to others’ perspectives will help deepen my understanding of my own relationship with Jesus. Mostly, I am excited to have the opportunity to be immersed for an entire week in an environment that is celebrating what is most important to me without the distractions of the typical schedule or daily qualms that sometimes make me forget to appreciate the Lord as wholly as one should. I am so blessed to be able to go on this journey with friends and mentors from my FLC Boston family. I know the LCMS youth gathering will be the highlight of my summer and is something that will significantly impact my life. I could not be more grateful for the good fortune of going to this gathering.
I hope you are all having a splendid Sunday.
Warmest Wishes,
-Asmeret
