galatians

As we transition to a new Sunday School year on September 8, the Adult Bible study will begin a new topic – Paul’s Letter to the Galatians.  Did you know that the letter has only six chapters, but inspired Martin Luther to write two lengthy commentaries?  This fall, we will study Paul’s wonderful exposition of how Christ’s gospel frees us from the slavery of the law.

How are we to live, now that Christ has fulfilled the law for us?  What does the “freedom of a Christian” mean?  These questions are as relevant today as they were nearly 2000 years ago.  People still struggle today to balance works and faith, law and gospel – to find a middle ground between complacency and despair.

Schedule and Study Information

Please join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 as we read, discuss, and open our hearts to the Holy Spirit speaking to us through the Word.

If you would like a copy of the study materials, please email the church office admin@flc-boston.org to request your free electronic or paper copy.

Our discussions will make use of the “God’s Word For Today” study guide, Galatians: The Cost of Freedom.  A schedule of topics and Bible readings may be found below, but please join us even if you don’t have time to read ahead!  Please note that the study will skip September 22 and 29 for presentations on World Missions and October 27 for a special Reformation Bible study.
