Luther-Predigt-LC-WB

In today’s confused world, people seek for authentic spirituality.  One promotes health and wealth if only you give money to the church or live a good enough life.  Another promises a connection with God if only you whip yourself into an emotional frenzy, looking for the next spiritual high.  Another denies spirituality all together calling it a lie and myth and that this material reality is all we have.  However, none of these spiritualities match reality or give comfort the conscience when in distress.  In Jesus Christ we have a very different spirituality, one not of glory but of the Cross.  One where the Son of God lays down His Life for the sins of the world.  Join us as we read Gene Edward Veith Jr.’s journey to becoming a Lutheran in the book “The Spirituality of the Cross” and explore the profound impact this singular act has on authentic spirituality.  The study begins Wednesday November 5th at 7pm.  The book for the study as well as copies of the Book of Concord will be provided free of charge.

Updated – Wednesdays during Advent

We’ve been meeting for several weeks to discuss “The Spirituality of the Cross,” written by Gene Edward Veith, Jr.  Even if you’ve missed our gatherings, please join us. The book for the study, as well as copies of the Book of Concord, are provided free of charge.

Please note that we will not meet on November26 (Thanksgiving Eve).  We will meet after each of the 7p.m. Advent services on December 3rd, 10th, and 17th.  We’ll take a break for Christmas and New Years, and dive back into the book on the 7th of January.

Please contact Pastor, the Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
