As our Sunday School children make the transition from Old Testament studies in the fall to New Testament in the spring, the Sunday Adult Bible study is following suit. Beginning January 10, we invite you to join us for a discussion of the Gospel of St. Luke. Starting with the familiar Christmas story, we will study Jesus’ Galilean ministry, his journey to Jerusalem and ministry there, and conclude just after Easter with his passion and resurrection.
We will discuss the context of Luke’s writing, the themes of law and gospel, quotations from the Old Testament, and how Luke’s gospel compares with the other gospel accounts. Whether you’re reading it for the first or twenty-first time, please join us with your questions and comments as we learn what Luke’s gospel has to say to each of us.
Advance preparation for the class is not required, but if you would like a copy of the study materials (God’s Abiding Word: Luke, by Roberts & Scaer), please contact the church office.
