Last weekend FLC’s blind ministry, Boston Light of the World, headed over to Hale House, an assisted living facility near church, to spread holiday cheer. Rosie played beautiful accompaniment on the piano as we sang a variety of favorite Christmas carols with residents in their cozy sitting room.
Boston Light of the World, led by Charles and Rosie Goumas, longtime FLC members, has been bringing Christmas carols to the elderly for many years now. After many years caroling at the Deutsches Altenheim in West Roxbury, in recent years BLW has been caroling just a block away from church at the Hale house, where one of our regular attenders resides. BLW members have always enjoyed this opportunity to give back to their community and remember those less fortunate than themselves.
After caroling, BLW members returned to church for a homestyle meal of meatloaf and mashed potatoes, good conversation, and some violin music from the Timko children before catching the RIDE home.
