Shining in Joy: Exported Talent

One of the ways that First Lutheran Church of Boston joyfully Shines that we routinely export our talent all over the world. Students and adults come to Boston for study or work; after some years at FLC, they move on to the next phase of their education or employment in another city. Their faith grows at FLC, and they are a blessing to the new congregation that they move on to. Many people move on with a new spouse or child. Some move with a new calling.

Christopher Chandler came to First Lutheran with a family and established career. When he left, it was to answer the call of the ministry to attend seminary. Listen to his story, as he recounted as a seminarian to the President of the LCMS,  Rev. Matthew Harrison.

It is with great joy that we see our former members continuing to Shine in their new homes and roles since worshiping at FLC. The Rev. Christopher Chandler now serves at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury, CT.
