Dear Friends in Christ,
For the first time in over a generation First Lutheran Church actually has teenagers attending a National Youth Gathering. This year’s Gathering is in San Antonio Texas and will be represented by Asmeret Daniel, and sisters Leah and Kayla Johnson. We are Blessed to have Sharon Perko along as their chaperone, Nik Locker as youth leader, and yours truly. Each week you will see a letter written by one of the three girls, stating why this trip is important to their faith and to our congregation.
May I request your prayerful and financial consideration in support of this important opportunity. We are committed to sharing our Texas experience at a special FLC dinner after returning, and would be happy to answer any questions you might have prior to our departure on June 29th. I am very proud of Leah, Asmeret, and Kayla and believe that they will be strengthened in their faith while becoming stronger members of our Church. I commend those who have already contributed, but we are still in need of significant support. Checks may be written with “Youth Gathering” in the memo line.
