Song, Hot Chocolate and Fellowship on the streets of the Back Bay

Brian and Joy Harms – FLC Family

Thank you to all who participated in the first Caroling in the Courtyard on Sunday, December 9th. Dozens of voices, led by Jonathan Wessler at the keyboard, joined together to sing carols for an hour, attracting the notice of our Back Bay neighbors.

The musical Wessler family leads the singing supported by a trio of young carolersDrivers stopped at the red light rolled down their windows to listen, and happily accepted invitations to attend Christmas services at FLC. Members of the community and some Back Bay neighbors saw the advertisements for the event and stopped by to sing some carols and share a hot cup of cocoa or cider. It was a fun opportunity to share our Advent joy with the neighborhood and publicize times for Advent and Christmas worship services.

Special thanks goes out to:

Carol Holderness:  organization assistance, goodie bags and craft projects for kids

Polly Brown:  organization assistance, community outreach during the event

Roseangela Lantz:  organization assistance, the flaming Yule Log

Sharon Perko:  organization assistance, the beverage and treat table

Jonathan Wessler:  musical leadership at the keyboard

Joe Krikava:  design of the postcard with worship times

Chris Muskopf:  in-the-street outreach during the event

Susan Yantis:  beverage and treats table

Nancy Bussing:  beverage and treats table

Countless others also deserve thanks for providing treats, participation, assistance, and encouragement before, during, and after the event.  It was a lot of fun, and requests have already come in to repeat the fun next year. Please keep the event in your prayers, that those who received postcards with service info will be moved to join us in worship to hear the Gospel both around the holidays, and throughout the year.

Many thanks!
