IMG_3747First Lutheran Church offers Christian education for all ages. Sunday School for children of all ages and adult Bible study takes place every Sunday between Divine Services at 9:30. Vacation Bible School is also offered on Sundays in June and open all.

Children

Sunday School children will have the opportunity to study God’s Word using the curriculum: Concordia Publishing House’s “Growing in Christ,” which focuses each Bible study on Christ’s work for our salvation. Students learn all the major stories of the Old and New Testament and see how God weaves His plan of salvation in Christ through the lives of ordinary men, women, and children.

Adults

During the Sunday school hour we are pleased to offer Bible study for our adult members. Our recent study topics have included the books of Esther, Daniel, Romans, and Galatians, a study of Abraham, as well as a study on the formation of early Christian theology, Biblical peacemaking, the Reformation emphasis on Law and Gospel, and generosity. May the Holy Spirit bless our studies as we seek to become mature Christians, as described in Hebrews 5:12–14:
In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s Word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.  But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Lutheran Essentials

Lutheran Essentials is taught by Paul Edmon and is held on Wednesdays at 7pm. It’s a dynamic group that gathers to discuss the Lutheran confessions and foundational doctrines of Lutheranism.
