On Sunday, August 24, Lydia Comfort Dog was welcomed into her new home at Messiah Lutheran Church in Lynnfield, Massachusetts.
LCC K-9 Director Rich Martin officially passed the leash to Top Dog Joyce Sauca, Pastor Jeremy Pekari and the K-9 Ministry Team from Messiah. Also on hand to welcome Lydia to New England were members from the K-9 team in Newtown, Connecticut and Maggie Comfort Dog (Christ the King, Newtown, CT). Lydia will be used in outreach in North Boston and the greater Boston area.

Lutheran Church Charities staff members Dona Martin, Rich Martin, Jeanne Moore and K-9 trainer Terry Ressler spent three and a half days training with the caregivers and handlers for Messiah, Lynnfield, along with the caregivers and handlers for Good Shepherd Lutheran in Old Bridge, New Jersey, who also received their first Comfort Dog.
