The Parsonage Garden in the Snow, Vincent Van Gogh
Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesdays at 7pm. You can reach the undercroft by going around to the back parking lot of the church and descending the staircase to the kitchen. Knock on the door if it is closed and some one will let you in. You can also join us remotely via our livestream. We are studying the book “The Hammer of God”. We are handing out copies of this book as well the Book of Concord and the Lutheran Service Book for free.
We will open class with Psalm 148 and our catechism lesson which is on the Sixth Commandment. We will read the first section of the second part “Three Days before Christmas” (pg. 113-127). We will read of the arrival of Pastor Fridfeldt into Ödesjö and his interaction with his supervising pastor. Fridfeldt is a believer that has given his heart to Christ, but the old rector points to the justifying work of Christ as His salvation. We will close with the hymn “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” (LSB 357).
As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class. Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
