Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesday evenings at 7pm.  You can reach the undercroft by going around to the back parking lot of the church and descending the staircase to the kitchen.  Knock on the door if it is closed and some one will let you in.  We are finishing up our current study on “In Christ All Things Hold Together”. and will be starting our new study on the Large Catechism on November 2nd. If you do not have a hard copy of the book we are providing it for free, as well as copies of the Book of Concord and the Lutheran Service Book.

This week’s psalm is Psalm 84.  The Small Catechism lesson is the Ninth Commandment.

We will be reading Chapter 5: Practical Applications (pg. 125-139).  We will start by talking about students (pg. 125-128) and teachers (pg. 128-13) and how they can deal with science in the class room.  We will then talk about scientists and how faith should inform their investigations (pg. 130-135).  We will then conclude with talking about non-scientists and how they should interact with science (pg. 135-139).  We will close our study by singing the hymn “O Worship the King” (LSB 804)

As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class.  Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
