The Last Supper, Ugolino da Siena (1325-30)
Lutheran Essentials is currently meeting remotely due to the COVID19 pandemic. You can join us via our livestream, we will start at 7pm. We are studying Martin Luther’s Large Catechism. As part of the class we are handing out copies of the Book of Concord (which contains the Catechism) and the Lutheran Service Book for free.
We will open our study with Psalm 116, recite the instruction on The Sacrament of the Altar from the Small Catechism, and sing the hymn “Jesus Christ, Our Blessed Savior” (LSB 627). We will start our look at the Sacrament of the Altar in the Large Catechism. We will talk what the Sacrament of the Altar is, namely the true Body and Blood of Christ. That the Sacrament of the Altar gives forgiveness of sins to the penitent believer. We will also begin our discussion of who worthily receives this Sacrament.
As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class. Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
