Stained Glass Window of the Baptism of our Lord.

Lutheran Essentials is currently meeting remotely due to the COVID19 pandemic.  You can join us via our livestream, we will start at 7pm.  We are studying Martin Luther’s Large Catechism.   As part of the class we are handing out copies of the Book of Concord (which contains the Catechism) and the Lutheran Service Book for free.

We will open our study with Psalm 89, recite the instruction on Holy Baptism from the Small Catechism, and sing the hymn “To Jordan Came the Christ, Our Lord” (LSB 406).  We will begin our look at the Sacrament of Holy Baptism in the Large Catechism.  We will talk about how Baptism is not just mere water, but water combined with God’s Word.  We will also talk about how Baptism grants the forgiveness of sins, regenerates the soul, gives faith, and makes us sons and daughters of God.  Included in Baptism is the gift of the very faith that trusts the promises of Baptism given by God.

As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class.  Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
