Jesus and the Syrophoenician woman. Etching by P. del Po after Annibale Carracci (1600-1699)
Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesdays at 8pm following Lenten Vespers at 7pm. You can find the undercroft by going around the back to the parking lot of the church and then down the stairs through the kitchen. Please knock on the door and ring the bell and some one will let you in. You can also join us remotely via our livestream on the FLC YouTube. Our current study is on the Pilgrim’s Progress. As usual we are handing out the book for free. We are also handing out copies of the Book of Concord and the Lutheran Service Book for free.
We will be reading Chapter Six (pg. 98-124). In this chapter Christian meets up with fellow pilgrim Faithful and learns of his journey. The two men then meet up with the hypocrite Talkative and lean to shun those who are all talk but no action. They then encounter Evangelist who encourages and warns them. We will close with the hymn “‘Come, Follow Me,’ the Savior Spake” (LSB 688).
As always new people are always welcome to this stgudy at any point during the class. Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
