Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesday evenings following the Lenten Midweek Vespers service at 7pm.  You can reach the undercroft by going around to the back parking lot of the church and descending the staircase to the kitchen.  Knock on the door if it is closed and some one will let you in.  Our current study is Martin Luther’s Large Catechism. If you do not have a hard copy of the Book of Concord we are providing it for free, as well as copies of the Lutheran Service Book.

This week we will recite Psalm 2, read the Second Article of the Apostle’s Creed from the Small Catechism, and sing verse 2 of “We All Believe in One True God” (LSB 954).  We will then study the Second Article of the Apostle’s Creed in the Large Catechism.  We will talk about who the Second Person of the Trinity is, God the Son.  We will talk about what it means that Jesus Christ is our Lord. We will also discuss the person and work of Jesus of Nazareth and the central article of the faith, Justification.  We will close with singing the hymn “O Love, How Deep” (LSB 544)

As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class.  Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
