The Annunciation of our Lord, Fra Angelico (1395-1455

Lutheran Essentials is currently meeting remotely due to the COVID pandemic.  You can join us via our livestream, we will start at 7pm.  We are studying Martin Luther’s Large Catechism.   As part of the class we are handing out copies of the Book of Concord (which contains the Catechism) and the Lutheran Service Book for free.

We will open our study with Psalm 51, recite the Third Article of the Creed from the Small Catechism, and sing verse 3 of the hymn “We All Believe in One True God” (LSB 954).  We will then continue our look at the Third Article in the Large Catechism starting at paragraph 56.  We will continue to discuss the Third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, and His work of sanctification and conversion.  We will talk about how we would know nothing about God with out the Holy Spirit, who reveals to us His nature.  Even more so we would know nothing about Christ’s work for our salvation with out the enlightening work of the Holy Spirit through Word and Sacrament.  We will close with the hymn “Veni Creator Spiritus” (LSB 498)

As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class.  Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
