Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesdays at 8pm following Lenten Vespers at 7pm. You can find the undercroft by going around the back to the parking lot of the church and then down the stairs through the kitchen. Please knock on the door and ring the bell and some one will let you in. You can also join us remotely via our livestream on the FLC YouTube. Our current study is on the Pilgrim’s Progress. As usual we are handing out the book for free. We are also handing out copies of the Book of Concord and the Lutheran Service Book for free.
We will be reading Chapter Seven (pg. 125-136). In this chapter Christian and Faithful arrive at Vanity Fair. After seeing all the useless things being bought and sold, Christian and Faithful are confronted as outsiders and thrown in prison. At the trial Faithful makes a bold defense of the faith and pays the ultimate price for his witness. We will close with the hymn “Jesus Priceless Treasure” (LSB 743).
