Transfiguration. Mosaic from the Basilica of the Transfiguration on Mount Tabor.
Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesdays at 7pm. You can find the undercroft by going around the back to the parking lot of the church and then down the stairs through the kitchen. Please knock on the door and ring the bell and some one will let you in. You can also join us remotely via our livestream on the FLC YouTube. Our current study is on the Pilgrim’s Progress. As usual we are handing out the book for free. We are also handing out copies of the Book of Concord and the Lutheran Service Book for free.
Our Psalm for the evening will be Psalm 26, and our catechism lesson will be the Fifth Commandment. We will be reading Chapter Three (pg. 56-68). In this chapter Christian heads out from the Interpreter’s House and arrives at Golgatha to have his sins removed. He then begins his journey on the Way encountering several fellows along his path. Finally Christian climbs the Hill of Difficulty, loses his certificate, and must reclaim it before continuing to the Palace Beautiful. We will close our study with the hymn “God’s Own Child I Gladly Say It” (LSB 594).
As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class. Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
