Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesday evenings following the Lenten Vespers at 7pm. You can reach the undercroft by going around to the back parking lot of the church and descending the staircase to the kitchen. Knock on the door if it is closed and some one will let you in. You can also join us remotely via our livestream which will start around 7:45pm. Our current study is on the Augsburg Confession. We are providing hard copies of the Book of Concord for free, as well as copies of the Lutheran Service Book.
We will open class with Psalm 119:113-120 (Samekh) and our catechism lesson will be on the Sacrament of the Altar. We will then study Article XXIV on the Mass. What the Mass is and what abuses the Roman Catholics had introduced into the Mass, including the sacrifice of the Mass. The Confutation disagrees with this article and the Apology shows why the Mass had to be purified of false practice. We will then sing the hymn “Lord Jesus Christ, You Have Prepared” (LSB 622).
As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class. Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
Can I access the worship Service (the Mass) on the computer? Siunday? At what hour? If not what is the public purpose of allthe information I have in front of me?
