The Parable of the Sower, Pieter Brueghel the Elder (1552)
Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesdays at 7pm. You can find the undercroft by going around the back to the parking lot of the church and then down the stairs through the kitchen. Please knock on the door and ring the bell and some one will let you in. You can also join us remotely via our livestream on the FLC YouTube. Our current study is on the Pilgrim’s Progress. As usual we are handing out the book for free. We are also handing out copies of the Book of Concord and the Lutheran Service Book for free.
Our Psalm for the evening will be Psalm 27, and our catechism lesson will be the Sixth Commandment. We will be reading Chapter Four (pg. 69-83). In this chapter Christian arrives at the Palace Beautiful. In the Palace he converses with three sisters, Piety, Prudence, and Charity. After having dinner he is invited to stay a few days to see the relics of the saints stored in the Palace and receive a suit of armor for the journey on the Way. We will close with the hymn “Lord Jesus Christ, with Us Abide” (LSB 585)
As always new people are always welcome to this stgudy at any point during the class. Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
