Lutheran Essentials meets in the basement of the church following the Wednesday evening Advent service.  Our current study is on “The Spirituality of the Cross” by Gene Edward Veith Jr.  If you do not have a copy we are providing them for free.  We are also continuing to provide the Book of Concord for free.

There is no Psalm for this session as we will be having worship prior to the class.  The Small Catechism lesson is the First Petition of the Lord’s Prayer.

This week we will continue the second chapter on the Means of Grace: The Presence of God.  Finish covering the section on The Bible (pg. 48-53) and discuss the importance of having the objective Word.  We will then move on and read The Sacraments: Baptism (pg. 53-61) and discuss what Baptism is and what it does.

As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class.  Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.

We will not be meeting on the 24th and 31st due to the Christmas season.  We will reconvene on January 7th at the normal time of 7pm.  Have a blessed remainder to Advent, a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and a blessed Epiphany!
