Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesdays at 7pm. You can find the undercroft by going around the back to the parking lot of the church and then down the stairs through the kitchen. Please knock on the door and ring the bell and some one will let you in. You can also join us remotely via our livestream on the FLC YouTube. Our current study is on the Pilgrim’s Progress. As usual we are handing out the book for free. We are also handing out copies of the Book of Concord and the Lutheran Service Book for free.
Our Psalm for the evening will be Psalm 28 and our Catechism lesson will be on the Seventh Commandment. We will the be reading Chapter Ten (pg. 164-181) of the Pilgrim’s Progress. In this chapter Christian and Hopeful arrive at the Delectable Mountains where the shepherds of those mountains show them the Celestial City in the far distance. Continuing their journey to the city they encounter Ignorance and see Turn-away being hauled off to Hell. This causes Christian to recall another pilgrim named Little Faith who stayed true to the Way though his faith was weak. We will close with the hymn “O Little Flock, Fear Not the Foe” (LSB 666)
