Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesday evenings after the Lenten midweek service that starts at 7pm. Currently we are studying the Augsburg Confession using the 2nd Edition of the Readers Edition of the Book of Concord. If you do not have a copy we are providing them for free.
The Psalm for this session is Psalm 119:105-112 (Nun). The Small Catechism lesson is the Third Article of the Apostle’s Creed. Last week we covered the article on the Worship of the Saints (XXI).
This week we will be covering Both Kinds in the Sacrament (Article XXII). We will discuss why the pastor and the laity should receive both the Body and the Blood in the Sacrament. Since the Confutation disagrees with this article we will read from the Apology of the Augsburg Confession Article XXII (X). The hymn for this article is “Draw Near and Take the Body of the Lord” (LSB 637).
As always new people are welcome to this study at any point during the class. Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions. Have a blessed 4th week of Lent.
