Mosaic of the Good Shepherd in the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, Ravenna (5th Century)

Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesdays at 7pm.  You can find the undercroft by going around the back to the parking lot of the church and then down the stairs through the kitchen.  Please knock on the door and ring the bell and some one will let you in. You can also join us remotely via our livestream on the FLC YouTube.  We are finishing our current study on the Pilgrim’s Progress, our next study will be on the Augsburg Confession starting on April 28th.   As usual we are handing out the book for free. We are also handing out copies of the Book of Concord and the Lutheran Service Book for free.

Our Psalm for the evening will be Psalm 30 and our Catechism lesson will be on the Ninth Commandment.  We will the be reading Chapter Twelve (pg. 215-228) of the Pilgrim’s Progress.  In this chapter Christian and Hopeful finally arrive at the gates of the Celestial City.  However before they can enter they must past through the River of Death. We will close with the hymn “Jerusalem the Golden” (LSB 672).

As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class.  Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
