Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. You can reach the undercroft by going around to the back parking lot of the church and descending the staircase to the kitchen. Knock on the door if it is closed and some one will let you in. Our current study is Martin Luther’s Large Catechism. If you do not have a hard copy of the Book of Concord we are providing it for free, as well as copies of the Lutheran Service Book.
This week we will recite Psalm 51, read the Third Article of the Apostle’s Creed from the Small Catechism, and sing verse 3 of “We All Believe in One True God” (LSB 954). We will continue our study of the Third Article of the Apostle’s Creed in the Large Catechism. We will talk about who the Third Person of the Trinity is and what He does. We will discuss how the Holy Spirit sanctifies the Church and what the Church is. We will also talk about how with out the Holy Spirit revealing the Word of God we would know nothing of God. We will close with the hymn “Veni Creator Spiritus” (LSB 498-499)
As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class. Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
