This Sunday we welcome Pastor Steve Law of the Wollaston Lutheran Church in Quincy to our pulpit. He will be preaching on the temptation of Jesus in the desert, Matthew 4:1-11, with the theme “40 Days of Life and Death”. Please note that Pastor Dutzmann will be away, helping his mother-in-law move to a new assisted living facility. We invite you to read below for a short bio provided by Pastor Law.
Pastor Steve Law is the pastor of Wollaston Lutheran Church.
Pastor Steve has been a resident of Quincy for almost 30 years. He was a graduate from North Quincy High school, and he worked in the computer industry for 7 years upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Pastor Steve then studied and received the Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He later finished his priesthood education at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana and was then ordained and installed in June 2017 at Wollaston Lutheran Church.
Pastor Steve’s calling is in the ministries of children Christian education, discipleship, and mission, both locally and internationally. He is the chairman of the Chinese Lutherans in Mission Building, an organization of Chinese Lutheran Pastors in the United States and oversea missionaries, and also one of the two chaplains of the Boston Short Term Mission, a local Christian organization focused in evangelism.
Pastor Steve, being a pianist, enjoys playing music, and he plays in a Christian band, Xaris.
Pastor Steve married his wife Elaine in May 2008. They have been blessed by their two children, Rayna, 8 and Evan, 5. He is the son of the Rev. Richard Law, the pastor Emeritus of the congregation.
