As the holiday season swings into gear, it can be hard to keep track of what’s happening when. Here’s a quick overview of November events at First Lutheran Church of Boston!
Saturday, November 16 – 6:30pm YOUNG ADULT FRIENDSGIVING dinner at church. Contact Nik Locker at nik@516missions.com with any questions.
Saturday, November 23 – 10am-4pm WORK DAY at church to spruce things up before winter hits. Contact Nik Locker at nik@516missions.com with any questions.
Sunday, November 24 – 9:30am SINGLE WORSHIP SERVICE. At this service we will consecrate our new communion chalice. Sunday School and Bible study will be held at 8:30am, and children are invited to stay after service for a 15 minute practice to sing the soprano part of the Vespers on 11/30 (see below).
Wednesday, November 27 – Noon THANKSGIVING MATINS (note: there will not be a Thanksgiving Eve Vespers this year).
Saturday, November 30 – 3pm THANKSGIVING DINNER at church with the Boston Light of the World (our Blind Ministry), followed by VESPERS FOR THE FIRST SUNDAY IN ADVENT – prelude at 4:30, service begins at 5pm. Please note that children are invited to sing the soprano part of the Bach cantata, “Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland” BWV 62. Rehearsals will be after church on 11/24 (see above) and at 4:20, immediately prior to the Vespers service.
