Easter Peace all,

As we rejoice in the blessings of Good Shepherd Sunday, please take a moment to read the attached letter from LCMS President Matthew Harrison regarding the centrality of Biblical Marriage. The letter speaks of the centrality of the institution of marriage of one man and one woman and affirms that this truth is worth defending.

Additional material is available on the LCMS website including a video message from President Harrison and other resources on these issues.

It seems fitting that even as the very foundation of Judeo-Christian culture is being assailed, and God’s authority to set the rules for marriage questioned, we are reminded on this Sunday of His sending His only Son, our Good Shepherd, to suffer and die for sin; ours, as well as for the sins of those we disagree with. That said, it is also true that Holy Scripture says we should obey God rather than men: and on the issue of homosexual marriage, as with abortion, that is precisely what we will do.

Please pray for our nation, for our families, and for our freedom to practice our faith in the precious Name of Jesus, our Risen Lord and King!

May God bless us and spare our nation,

Pastor Dutzmann
