First Lutheran Church in Boston at 299 Berkeley Street
will be home base for Lydia Comfort Dog as she prepares to mingle with
runners & spectators at The Boston Marathon on Monday, April 18,
2016. She & her team of handlers would love to visit with you.

All are invited to the 8am and 11am Sunday worship services at First
Lutheran Church. There will be runners & their families readying
themselves for this Big Race. First Lutheran is between Commonwealth
Ave & Marlborough St in the Back Bay. The church is pastored by Ingo
Dutzmann. More information can be found at www.flc-boston.org.

On Patriot’s Day (Monday, April 18, 2016) approximately 30,000
runners will participate in the 120th running of this great race. Founded
in 1897, the Boston Marathon is the oldest annual marathon in the
world. Boston shares its major marathon status with Tokyo, London,
Berlin, Chicago and New York drawing runners from every walk of life.

Most runners will have qualified with a running time from another
marathon. Non-qualified runners are affiliated with the Marathon’s
official charities, raising funds from sponsors for their participation.

Lydia, an LCC Comfort Dog, will be on hand to greet the crowds, settle
nerves and add to the positive excitement of the day. She plans to start
at First Lutheran on Monday morning and walk to the finish line where
the runners will be boarding buses to take them to the starting line.
During the day, she will be interacting with spectators, possibly visiting
with folks in the medical tent, and wherever else comfort & smiles may
be needed.
