The Comfort Dogs Are Returning!
On October 17, the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs will be receiving an award from the MSPCA for “Animal Hero Award” for their efforts during the week following the Marathon Bombings, bringing much-needed comfort to victims in hospitals, nearby college students, running clubs, and members of the community. During their trip (10/16-10/20) they will also be visiting nearby college campuses, sharing private time with some of the first responders from the Marathon bombings, as well putting a smile on anyone’s face-should they need it! Handlers Richard and Dona Martin, Sharon Flaherty, Barbara Granado will be in Boston along with four dogs.
We are thrilled to have them back with us for a few days, and are reaching out to you to ensure they have a bark-tacular time in Boston. Partial Funding has been provided for accommodations; however travel expenses, food, etc does add up! We are asking for any donation-large or small-anything will help! Please use the enclosed envelope and deposit it into the collection plate, or you can contact Elaine for more information at Elaine.Laaser@flc-boston.org
