A Tale of Two Giving Trees
In addition to participating in acts of service, some financial and material giving opportunities exist with not one but two Giving Trees this year. FLC is excited this year to have two wonderful organizations to support. The “upstairs” tree will be Supporting the ministry of “Orphan Grain Train”
Orphan Grain Train is a Christ centered organization that provides human care both in the USA and internationally. Recently they provided over 259,000 meals to people recovering from the typhoon in the Philippines. This year we are asking if you can donate: new and gently used clothing for infants, children and adults, shoes, diapers, new underwear and socks, blankets and winter clothing.
The “downstairs” Tree is designated to “Feeding Children Everywhere”
Our area in the New England District has set a goal of hand packing 62,500 meals on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Messiah Lutheran in Lynnfield. You can help by donating money ($10 = 40 meals) and/or volunteering your time to help pack the meals.
Once again, please contact Elaine at elaine.laaser@flc-boston.org with any questions or comments.
