The true riches of our heritage in the Church shine through most brilliantly in the liturgical life of the church.  Since the days of Adam and Eve this great masterpiece, which is the Church’s worship and piety, has grown with one generation adding to the work of the last.  This liturgy which we have inherited in the Lutheran Church proclaims the Gospel in a most salutary way, and aids in the teaching the faith to all generations and peoples.  Truly it is the ultimate expression of to old maxim lex orandi, lex credendi, the rule of prayer is the rule of faith.

Join Lutheran Essentials on October 31st, 2018 at 7pm as we begin our study of the Church’s liturgy from top to bottom using the book “Ceremony and Celebration” by Paul H. D. Lang.  We will discuss the theological foundations of why Christians worship the way they do, as well as all the various ceremonies and rites of the church.  Everything done by the Church has a deeper significance, that being the delivery of the Gospel to sinners both in public worship but also in home devotion.  For the Word of God is foundational to all that we say and do.

We are handing out the book for free as well as hymnals and the Book of Concord. As always new people are welcome to the class at any time.  Please talk to the pastor, elders, or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
