A visit back to the 17th-century musical splendors of Salzburg is in store for Boston early music lovers when conductor Simon Carrington and Canto Armonico present Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber’s Vesperae Longiores ac breviores (1693), with additional material added for Advent. Brilliant and intimate music by Biber and his contemporaries, including Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I, will be heard in this Friday night’s “Imperial Splendor at Salzburg Cathedral” at First Lutheran Church, 299 Berkeley Street at 8:00 pm.
