Cannon Mountain Hike
Saturday, August 31 (Labor Day Weekend) the Boston Campus Connections group is sponsoring a hike up beautiful Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire. However, everyone in the congregation is invited to participate. Pastor Dutzmann will be our guide on the hike. The plan is to leave the Boston area early, hike up the mountain, have lunch and a devotion on the mountain top, and take a gondola back down the mountain. Carpooling will be available for those who need it. More details in upcoming weeks.
Updates and Vitals from Pastor Dutzmann, your Alpine Guide
We’ll meet at church at 6am sharp and off we go. Based on who has already committed, it hould be a great group. The plan is to hike up Cannon from Lafayette Campground, eat lunch at the top (the ski area grill will actually be open), ride the Tram down (I know, it feels a little like cheating), and walk back to Lafayette with a stop at the Profile Lake Memorial to view what used to be the 63 foot high “Old Man of the Mountain” using the recently-installed and brilliantly-designed sighting devices. Total hike and walk should be about six -seven hours. Then we’ll stop for supper on the way home before a well-deserved night’s sleep! Can’t wait to see y’all!!
