First Lutheran church is turning 175 years old this spring, and we’d like to announce a special project to celebrate the founding of our congregation. The “175 Voices” project will collect stories about how FLC has touched the lives of those who have attended here.
Whether you are a current or former member, or an occasional attender, we invite you to share a short story of how your time at FLC has made a difference in your life. We will be collecting the stories to help document the past 15 or so years of the life of our congregation. Of course, stories from earlier times are welcome, too! The stories will be collected into a commemorative document for our celebration with LCMS President Matthew Harrison on Palm Sunday (April 13th).
Stories (and a photo is desired) may be submitted by posting a comment below this article, or by email to 175th-Anniversary@flc-boston.org. Please don’t forget to include your name, and whether your story may be shared on this website, or just in the printed booklet (stories submitted as website comments will be public, so use the email address if you prefer that your name/story not be available online). If you prefer to keep your story anonymous, please submit it by email and indicate your preference. Stories shared on the church website will use only first name and initial (or anonymous, if you so indicate).
Please share your story no later than March 31st to allow collection of the stories before our Palm Sunday celebrations. Any questions regarding this project can be directed to 175th-Anniversary@flc-boston.org. If you know someone who might have a story to contribute, please encourage them to contribute, too. May God bless your (electronic) pens!
