Adult Bible Study: “Councils, Creeds, and Canon: Development of Christian Doctrine in the Early Church”
If someone were to ask a Christian today, “how do you know what it is that you believe about Jesus,” one would likely point to the Bible or the historic creeds as fundamental references.  But there was a time, in the early church, when Christians did not have the benefit of the creeds, and the document we know as the New Testament did not exist! This time period was one of great theological vitality where the foundational beliefs of the church were debated and codified.
Adult Bible Study begins at 10AM in the First Lutheran church undercroft, home of plenty of coffee, donuts and bagels along with the edifying investigation of God’s Word.
